Bio

Paul's journey in motorsports is marked by his deep-rooted passion, undeniable perseverance, and impressive podium percentages. His consistent focus on fitness and performance, despite various challenges, underlines his drive for success. His collaboration with Victus emphasizes his commitment to continuous improvement and carving a niche in the world of Motorsport.

What are your personal achievements/personal bests?
Benelux champion in Formula Renault, 3rd place in European Formula Renault, European champion GT4. And a lot of podiums and race wins in single events, and an average podium percentage of 56.6% and a win percentage of 25.3%.

When did you first realise you had talent in motor racing, and what made you decide to pursue it?
At the age of 6, I started go-karting. There, I noticed I really enjoyed the rush of speed, and I knew I wanted to continue that and see what I could accomplish.

What sports performance are you most proud of, and why?
I think in 2003 when I won the Benelux Formula Renault championship and finished 4th in the European series that year.

What major challenges have you faced while pursuing your ambition, and how did you overcome them?
The key is to never give up, to always try again, even if you lose a few times or if you get hit out of a race.

Describe your worst sports performance, and what did you learn from the experience?
The moment I had to stop racing was when I was one of the fastest of my generation, but we did not find a way to get a complete budget to continue racing… that hurt a lot for quite some time.

What strengths do you believe you have that make you a great athlete?
Perseverance, an obsession with what I do, and a willingness to drop everything to be successful in the car.

What sacrifices have you had to make during your sports career, and what motivates you to stay focused?
When I was young, I had to always be on the road and at the track, travelling a lot and not having the most common youth where you play with children your age etc.. Those years were only all about the sport.

Rank the top five priorities currently in your life.
Family, the best home situation for my daughter, staying healthy and fit, taking all the chances within the Motorsport world, and being successful in business.

What can we expect from you in the (near) future, and what are your plans and ambitions?
I aim to take all the opportunities I get, to be the best I can be and to ensure I train even harder so that when I jump in the car, it will never be about me or my physical endurance.

What’s the reason you chose to become part of Victus?
I like the brand and mindset, the high-end look and feel, and the complete studies that they have done together with the university make it clear to me that they take it seriously. So am I.

What would you like to see from us in the future?
More collaborations together, and ensuring Victus will also have a significant contribution and place in Motorsport.

Lastly, we'd like to hear what you think of us and our products.
Up to now, I am using all the products, but not completely in the way Victus intended, I think. I need to combine the products more, not only take 1 or 2 during training, but use the complete range of before, during, and after to achieve the best outcome. That's what I want to test in the coming period.
